Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend Ranks in the Top 20% Of the American Lawyer’s Pro Bono Survey

ATLANTA (July 15) - Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that the firm ranked among the top 20% of the 156 law firms that participated in the recently released American Lawyer 2015 Pro Bono Survey. Kilpatrick Townsend ranked 34th in the 2015 Pro Bono Survey, moving up 15 places from 2014 when it ranked 49th. The firm achieved an especially notable ranking for pro bono by breadth of commitment (% of U.S.-based lawyers with 20+ hours), where it ranked 15th – in the top 10% of all reporting firms.

The 2015 Pro Bono Survey ranks Am Law 200 firms on the basis of the average number of pro bono hours its lawyers performed in 2014 and the percentage of lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work. The American Lawyer defines pro bono work as legal services donated to organizations or individuals that could not otherwise afford them. It does not include work done by paralegals or summer associates, nor time spent on bar association work, on nonlegal work for charities or on boards of nonprofit organizations.
