Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend’s Clay Wheeler and Dustin Greene Honored by Legal Aid of North Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM (September 24) - Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that partner Clay Wheeler and associate Dustin Greene were honored by Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) for their crucial and timely contributions to the social justice mission of LANC. The LANC Board unanimously adopted a resolution honoring Mr. Wheeler and Mr. Greene for their tireless pro bono advocacy on behalf of LANC and its staff. On Friday, September 18, Mr. Wheeler and Mr. Greene were recognized and presented with the framed resolution and statuettes of the Roman goddess of justice at the LANC Board meeting.

Legal Aid of North Carolina is a statewide, nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove barriers to economic opportunity. LANC helps individuals, families, and communities with legal problems affecting basic human needs, such as family, housing, education, employment, and income.

Mr. Wheeler is an experienced trial lawyer who handles complex criminal and civil litigation matters. As a member of the firm’s Government Enforcement and Investigations team, Mr. Wheeler helps clients respond to government enforcement actions that carry potential criminal consequences. He also counsels organizational clients on compliance issues and conducts necessary internal investigations. Mr. Wheeler’s experience includes representing clients in connection with enforcement actions by the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the North Carolina Department of Justice. Mr. Wheeler has worked with clients in thebanking, retail, construction, real estate, agriculture, food processing, telecommunications, and health care sectors.

Mr. Greene focuses his practice on commercial and general litigation matters. Since joining the firm, Mr. Greene has represented plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation matters including shareholder rights, fiduciary duty claims, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair trade practices, complex contract issues, construction litigation, and other matters. Mr. Greene has experience in arbitration, federal and state court, the North Carolina Business Court, and at all levels of North Carolina’s appellate courts. He is also dedicated to providing pro bono representation to those in need, focusing his pro bono work on issues affecting veterans of all branches of the armed forces.
