WINSTON-SALEM, NC (October 31) – The Legal Aid of North Carolina recently honored Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton for the firm’s “extraordinary Pro Bono service to legal aid clients.” The firm was recognized at the 2016 North Carolina Legal Services Conference held at the International Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Kilpatrick Townsend was recognized for its Education Justice project in partnership with Legal Aid and the Wake Forest School of Law and for dedicating more than 1,375 pro bono hours to Legal Aid clients since 2011. Jennifer Story, Supervising Attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina's Children's Services, describes the firm as a "shining example of the positive impact that a private firm can have by doing pro bono work."

The Legal Aid of North Carolina is a statewide, nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity.
