Insights: News Releases Four Kilpatrick Townsend Attorneys Named 2016 Southern California Super Lawyers
LOS ANGELES (February 25) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that four attorneys from the firm’s Los Angeles offices were selected as 2016 Southern California Super Lawyers. For the 12th year, Mary Craig Calkins was named in the Insurance Coverage category, while Larry McFarland and Dennis Wilson were recognized in the Intellectual Property Litigation category, and Raymond Aghaian was recognized in the White Collar Crimes category.
The Super Lawyers distinction honors attorneys who attain a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement as some of the region’s pre-eminent lawyers. Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations, all of which result in a comprehensive and diverse listing of the top five percent of attorneys in each state.
Raymond Aghaian is an experienced trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor focusing his practice on white collar criminal defense, cybersecurity, complex civil litigation, and internal investigations. As a federal prosecutor with the Cyber & Intellectual Property Crimes Section of the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Central District of California, Mr. Aghaian helped lead the U.S. Justice Department's efforts in investigating and prosecuting an array of white collar crimes.
Mary Craig Calkins leads Kilpatrick Townsend’s West Coast Insurance Practice, representing policyholders in high stakes litigation. Her extensive coverage experience includes directors and officers liability, professional errors and omissions, entertainment and intellectual property claims, cyber liabilities, e-commerce and technology claims, labor and employment claims, construction defects, first party property and business interruption losses, and broker liability issues. She also counsels clients on maximizing coverage under their policies.
Larry McFarland is the Managing Partner of the firm's Los Angeles office and serves as Chair of the firm’s Diversity Council. He focuses his practice on litigation and counseling in all areas of intellectual property law, including copyright, trademark, rights of publicity and privacy, and unfair competition. Mr. McFarland has successfully represented start-up to Fortune 500 companies across a broad spectrum of industries.
Dennis Wilson focuses his practice on complex litigation involving trademark, copyright, entertainment and Internet law issues. Mr. Wilson represents many of the world's largest media and technology companies creating and directing their international rights enforcement programs. He provides strategic counseling to businesses on a wide range of related issues including false advertising, idea submission, rights of publicity and unfair business practices.
