Mr. Reed joins the firm as Counsel and Chair of the State Tax Practice on the Domestic & International Tax Team in the firm’s Corporate, Finance & Real Estate Department.

“Jeff is a highly-skilled and well-established lawyer with extensive experience and knowledge on state and local tax matters,” said Chuck Hodges, Chair of Kilpatrick Townsend’s Domestic & International Tax Team. “His experience representing businesses and individuals in audits and state tax litigation will be invaluable in assisting our clients with state tax disputes. Our clients will also benefit from his strategic state tax advice, which will help them determine how best to characterize and report certain key products and transactions. At the outset of his career, Mr. Reed served as a tax ligation counsel for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, where he represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in state tax disputes before the Appellate Tax Board and helped resolve corporate excise, sales and use, and personal income tax controversies.
