Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend’s Adria Perez Named One of Georgia’s Attorneys “On the Rise”

ATLANTA (June 30) -- Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that the Daily Report selected Partner Adria Perez to their 2016 Attorneys “On the Rise” class. Ms. Perez is among a prestigious group of 25 leaders under 40 featuring lawyers from across the state of Georgia.

Nominated by Georgia's legal community, the Daily Report's editorial staff handpicked this year's “On the Rise” lawyers. The Daily Report predicts that readers and the Atlanta legal community will hear and read more about the “One the Rise” recipients, including Ms. Perez, in the future. Since 2002, the Daily Report has introduced readers to Georgia lawyers under age 40 who were or would become firm leaders, lawyer-legislators, in-house counsel, Supreme Court justices, judges, and dedicated public servants.

Ms. Perez focuses her practice on representing both corporations and individuals in white collar criminal defense matters, government enforcement issues, as well as internal, criminal and SEC investigations. Her experience includes handling issues relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act (including government contracting, healthcare and tax matters), Civil Investigative Demands and export enforcement. Ms. Perez assists clients in responding to inquiries from and government investigations conducted by the DOJ, SEC, OCC and Office of Inspector General from a variety of federal agencies. She also counsels clients on developing and strengthening compliance programs and policies.

Ms. Perez has devoted nearly 1,000 hours to the firm’s pro bono efforts, and her volunteer work has impacted lives through numerous communities. She co-founded the Georgia Latino Law Foundation (GLLF), which works to increase diversity in the legal profession by supporting the Latino legal community pipeline. In addition, GLLF seeks to increase the Latino community’s access to the legal system by educating and empowering Latinos to join the legal community. Ms. Perez also led the taskforce to start ToolBank USA. Today, ToolBankUSA has nine toolbanks throughout the country and a mobile unit that provides disaster relief services. Already in 2016, 85,360 volunteers have used toolbank tools.

Ms. Perez is a member of Kilpatrick Townsend’s Pro Bono Committee and the firm’s Volunteer Council. She was recognized as a 2011 “40 Under 40” Rising Leader by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. In 2016 and the four years immediately preceding, Super Lawyers magazine recognized Ms. Perez as a Georgia "Rising Star" in the area of White Collar Criminal Defense.
