ATLANTA (August 5) -- Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that attorney Rho Thomas has been named to the Board of Trustees of Literacy Action.

Founded in a church basement, Literacy Action is now the oldest, largest, and leading adult basic education nonprofit in the Southeastern United States. Literacy Action works to set the standard of excellence in the field of adult basic education and to ultimately eradicate low literacy, a root cause of poverty in the Atlanta area. Literacy Action helps build better futures for undereducated adults by teaching literacy, life, and work skills that empower them to reach their highest potential.

Ms. Thomas focuses her practice on trademark and copyright issues. She advises her clients on domestic and international trademark clearance, copyright clearance, trademark and copyright licensing, trademark portfolio management, and trademark and copyright enforcement matters. Further, Ms. Thomas has experience with trademark disputes before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and in federal court.

Additionally, Ms. Thomas devotes a considerable amount of time to pro bono work. She serves as a member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and regularly volunteers with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Saturday Lawyer Program representing clients in landlord/tenant disputes. Ms. Thomas also represents a non-profit housing organization in its trademark enforcement work.
