ATLANTA (April 21) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that former Summer Associate Alexandra Martinez, who will be joining the firm’s Trademark and Copyright Team in the Fall, was selected as the winner of the 2017 Ladas Memorial Award in the Student Category. Ms. Martinez was recognized for her article, “The Act of Registering a Trademark: Commercial Speech, Non-Commercial Speech, or a Combination of Both?

The Ladas Memorial Award was established in memory of Stephen P. Ladas, distinguished practitioner and author. Funded by Ladas & Parry LLP, and administered by the International Trademark Association (INTA), this yearly award is presented in Student and Professional categories for a paper on trademark law or a matter that directly relates to or affects trademarks.

Ms. Martinez will earn her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, where she serves as a Senior Supervising Editor of Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly. She received her B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University, magna cum laude.
