Ms. Cahoon, a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, has chaired the firm's Litigation practice group and is the firm's General Counsel. She joined the firm in 1971 and was admitted to partnership in 1977. Ms. Cahoon has spent all of her career as a litigator. Her diverse experience includes patent infringement litigation and complex commercial disputes. She also is trained as a mediator and as an arbitrator.
Ms. Calkins heads Kilpatrick Townsend’s West Coast Insurance Recovery practice, and has more than 30 years of experience handling and litigating all aspects of insurance recovery for policyholders in complex and high-value matters. She has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for companies and individuals under directors and officers liability, cyber, management liability and professional errors and omissions policies, and has facilitated settlement of some of the most complicated directors and officers liability issues in the country.
Dr. McKeon is a registered patent attorney who focuses her practice on patent prosecution, IP strategy and IP portfolio management for leading universities, research institutions, and corporations in the life sciences and biotechnology fields. Her biotechnology experience includes neuroscience, immunology, therapeutic antibodies, oncolytic virus therapy, stem cell technology and recombinant technologies in a variety of areas including food and food supplements.
Ms. Michael concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on insurance coverage disputes. During more than 20 years of representing policyholders, she has handled high-stakes cases in a wide variety of coverage areas, including products liability, bodily injury and environmental claims, claims involving violation of consumer protection statutes and other allegedly unfair trade practices, intellectual property claims, construction defect claims, employment practices liability claims, and numerous other errors and omissions liability and directors and officers liability claims.
Ms. Pearson is an experienced, versatile and creative litigator specializing in copyright, trademark, unfair competition and Internet-related disputes. She represents creators and brand owners across a broad spectrum of industries including fashion and luxury goods, publishing, the arts and entertainment, consumer products, travel and many others. Ms. Pearson has obtained excellent results for her clients in federal and state courts across the United States, in UDRP proceedings to recover domain names, and in cancellation and opposition proceedings in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. Spaeth serves as Managing Partner of the firm. Ms. Spaeth focuses her practice on intellectual property and complex/technical litigation, particularly patent litigation, licensing and counseling. She has represented biotechnology, medical device and high technology companies in various federal district courts, the United States International Trade Commission and European patent litigation. In addition to litigating patent and complex technology disputes, Ms. Spaeth regularly assists clients in their patent portfolio development, product analyses to determine patent infringement, negotiation of agreements related to intellectual property and establishing strategies to exploit the use of intellectual property.
