Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend Receives Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award from Colorado Legal Services

Award Recognizes Outstanding Dedication to Low-Income Communities

DENVER (January 4)Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton is proud to announce that it received the Rebekah A. McBride Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award from Colorado Legal Services. The annual award, which is given to attorneys and firms that provide pro bono services to low-income communities, recognizes the firm’s ongoing support and commitment to the San Luis Valley Caregiver Legal Clinic.

The clinic provides low-income residents of Colorado’s San Luis Valley, where families in rural communities have been significantly impacted by drug abuse, with legal advice and services to help them secure legal relationships for minors in their care. These legal relationships help keep families together, and give caregivers the legal authority to make educational and healthcare decisions for children in their care.

“Without your firm’s dedicated attorneys, this clinic simply would not be possible,” said Jonathan Asher, executive director of Colorado Legal Services. “Your firm’s attorneys have shown a great ability to serve rural communities by combining their unquestioned legal skills with great empathy in an extraordinarily effective way.”

Colorado Legal Services presented the award on behalf of Kilpatrick Townsend to Karam Saab, a partner in the firm’s Denver office, and Sara Bradford, a Denver associate.
