Overview

Wendy Gu focuses her practice on patent preparation, prosecution, and related counseling primarily in the areas of electronics and software. Wendy’s patent practice experience expands over 15 years and includes freedom-to-operate analysis, patent portfolio management, and patent training. She has significant knowledge and experience in optical, semiconductor, electronical, and mechanical technologies.

Prior to joining the firm, Wendy worked as a patent agent (limited recognition) and then an associate in the Manchester, New Hampshire office of an East Coast/West Coast intellectual property law firm. Previously, she was a patent agent (limited recognition) at an intellectual property law firm headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia.

While attending the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, Wendy received its 2017 Law Patent and Practice Award for which only one LL.M./J.D. student receives each year.

Prior to launching her legal career, Wendy worked as a patent examiner for approximately 10 years and served as Director of the third Computer Examination Office and Vice Director of the Optical Application Examination Office in the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (formerly the China Patent Office). While there, Wendy examined more than one thousand Chinese patent applications and received the Bankbone Talent of the Department Award and the Excellent Examination Quality Award for many times. Previously, Wendy worked as a Software Engineer at a technology manufacturing company in Beijing, China.
