Community Leadership & Philanthropy Cultivating Leaders

Kilpatrick Townsend’s Community Leadership and Philanthropy efforts honor the important relationship between our business and our communities. As an active part of, not apart from, the communities where we work and live, our partners, counsel, associates, and professional staff readily take on leadership roles by serving as board members for hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the country. Nonprofit board service builds valuable skills — leadership, meeting management, budget development, strategic planning, and consensus-building — which enable us to serve all of our clients better, while simultaneously building valuable professional and personal relationships. To best prepare our attorneys, we offer annual training that teaches effective nonprofit leadership skills and nonprofit governance standards.

Each year, the firm contributes approximately one percent of gross profits to nonprofit organizations with whom we actively partner via pro bono, board service, or volunteerism. Throughout our offices, we organize annual fundraising campaigns to further support organizations, such as the United Way, as well as other local organizations. As a firm, we mobilize to help victims of domestic and international natural disasters — typically offering matching gifts for contributions made by attorneys and staff. Individually, our attorneys and staff also contribute financially to local organizations and programs that hold a personal interest.
