Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend’s Steve Berlin and Charles Calkins Once Again Named “Most Influential People” in the Triad

WINSTON-SALEM (November 8) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partners Steve Berlin and Charles Calkins were once again named two of the “Most Influential People” in the Triad by the Triad Business Journal.

For the 13th year, the Triad Business Journal has selected the top community leaders for this prestigious listing. The individuals selected are not only shepherding their own organizations, but they all give their time, resources, and expertise to have an indelible impact on the Triad region. This year’s list includes over 90 leaders who are not only motivating individuals by their actions and generosity, but who are also getting results.

Mr. Berlin, Managing Partner of Kilpatrick Townsend’s Winston-Salem office, was recognized for the 7th consecutive year for running the firm’s largest office in the state of North Carolina and for being deeply involved civically. His community leadership spans a variety of sectors from chairing the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County to serving as a trustee for UNC-School of the Arts to serving on the board of Winston-Salem Business Inc.

This is the 11th consecutive year that Mr. Calkins, co-chair of Kilpatrick Townsend’s Chemistry & Life Sciences team, has received this distinction. His knowledge of intellectual property law has made him a longtime leader in the Triad’s technology community. Mr. Calkins’ leadership is most evident in co-chairing the Piedmont Angel Network, which has invested millions into more than 23 emerging technology companies, many of which are in the Triad but also across the Carolinas and Virginia.
