Insights: News Releases Counsel Robert Dailey Rejoins Kilpatrick Townsend’s Intellectual Property Department in Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem (December 12) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Robert Dailey to the firm’s Winston-Salem office. Dr. Dailey rejoins the firm after serving as Intellectual Property Counsel at an early-stage biotech company in Illinois for the past three years. He is Counsel on the firm’s Chemistry & Life Sciences Team in the firm’s internationally-recognized Intellectual Property Department.

Dr. Dailey is a registered patent attorney who focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling. He has handled a broad range of transactional matters including drafting and negotiating technology-focused agreements, developed and executed intellectual property strategies to support product launches and intellectual property monetization efforts, conducted intellectual property due diligence analyses and patent/trademark clearances, and drafted and prosecuted patent applications. Dr. Dailey has represented clients in a wide array of matters related to contentious and non-contentious aspects of patent law. He has experience in the specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device industries. His technical background is in physical chemistry and materials science

Dr. Dailey has served as in-house counsel for two venture-backed companies in the life sciences space, and has a broad familiarity with the legal issues faced by early-stage technology companies. He has experience evaluating business plans and developing strategies to support such plans from both an intellectual property and a transactional perspective.

Dr. Dailey earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, with honors, where he served on the Editorial Staff of the North Carolina Law Review. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry (Organic & Physical) from Indiana University, and earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Eastern Nazarene College, summa cum laude.
