Insights: News Releases Three Kilpatrick Townsend Attorneys Named 2017 Rising Stars by Southern California Super Lawyers
LOS ANGELES (June 27) -- Kilpatrick Townsend announced today that three attorneys from the firm’s Los Angeles office were selected as 2017 Rising Stars by Southern California Super Lawyers. Partner Caroline “Carrie” Barbee and associate Kollin Zimmermann were named in the Intellectual Property Litigation category, while associate Heather Habes was recognized in the Insurance Coverage category.
The Super Lawyers distinction honors attorneys who attain a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement as some of the region’s pre-eminent lawyers. Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations, all of which result in a comprehensive and diverse listing of the top five percent of attorneys in each state.
Carrie Barbee focuses her practice on all areas of intellectual property litigation and enforcement, including copyright and trademark infringement litigation, as well as registering, policing and enforcing trademarks and copyrights. She was also recognized by Super Lawyers in 2008, 20010-12, and 2014-16.
Heather Habes focuses her practice on complex insurance recovery for policyholders under a wide variety of policies, including directors and officers liability, commercial general liability, professional liability, entertainment, property, employment practices and workers’ compensation policies. She has assisted in collecting millions of dollars of insurance coverage for professional errors and omissions, directors and officers liability, and construction defect claims. This is her first Super Lawyers recognition.
Kollin Zimmermann focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, particularly cases involving trademark, copyright, unfair competition, false advertising, and trade secret claims, as well as related business disputes. Mr. Zimmermann has litigated cases in a broad range of industries, including apparel, consumer electronics, entertainment, and gaming. He also has substantial experience litigating matters involving e-commerce and other internet-based intellectual property issues. He also received Super Lawyers recognition in 2015.
