ATLANTA (August 22) — Kilpatrick once again announces that the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Department has received widespread recognition from the world’s most prestigious legal rankings. Kilpatrick is one of the select firms in the country ranked at the highest level in top IP rankings for: The Best Lawyers in America®, Best Lawyers "Best Law Firms”, Chambers USA, Managing Intellectual Property, World Trademark Review 1000, Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal.

Kilpatrick was recognized as the Top-Listed Firm in the nation for the total number of attorneys listed for Trademark Law by Best Lawyers in its 2025 edition. This is the 12th consecutive year the firm has earned this prestigious recognition. In total, the firm has 24 attorneys recognized for Trademark Law and 40 attorneys recognized for Litigation – Intellectual Property.
Six of the firm’s intellectual property attorneys (Wab Kadaba, James Trigg, Charles Calkins, Steve Gardner, Laura Miller, and Tina Williams McKeon) were named “Lawyer of the Year” for their practice specialty in their geographic region.
Kilpatrick was named “Law Firm of the Year” for Litigation - Intellectual Property in the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers "Best Law Firms.” The designation is based on law firms' overall performance in a given practice area and represents a significant showing in the research process. Kilpatrick was ranked Band 1 for Intellectual Property: Trademark, Copyright & Trade Secrets (USA Nationwide) in the 2024 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. The firm also received Band 1 rankings for IP in Colorado, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Managing Intellectual Property
Managing Intellectual Property honored Kilpatrick as the “IP Firm of the Year for the Americas” for the second time in three years at the 19th annual 2023 Managing IP Americas Awards. Managing IP recognized Kilpatrick as the “U.S. Trademark Prosecution Firm of the Year” for the third year in a row and sixth time overall.
In addition to “U.S. Trademark Prosecution Firm of the Year”, Kilpatrick took home hardware for“U.S. Trademark Prosecution Firm of the Year for the South and “U.S. Patent Disputes Firm of the Year for the South.” The firm was also ranked Tier One (U.S. National) in the Trademark Disputes, Trademark Prosecution, and Patent Prosecution categories.
In addition, Managing Intellectual Property recognized firm partner Ty Lord as one of the “Top 250 Women in IP.” Kilpatrick had 33 attorneys named to Managing IP Stars 2024.
World Trademark Review 1000
The 2024 World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000 - The World's Leading Trademark Professionals once again awarded the firm with gold-level recognition for its U.S. national practice and for several U.S. states.
The WTR recognized Kilpatrick with high rankings in California, Colorado, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, and Washington, D.C. The firm is also ranked in China and SARs | China: Foreign—the only gold-level U.S. national firm ranked in this geographic market. For the second consecutive year, Kilpatrick is also recommended with a select number of firms as an International Firm.
