Since 2003, Mr. Atwell has represented a major chemical company as part of its national counsel team, participating in management, coordination, and defense of thousands of toxic tort cases. He has worked as Texas defense counsel for a number of product manufacturers, including a major electrical product manufacturer in conjunction with that company’s national coordinating counsel. In addition, he has participated in the defense of oil and gas companies in personal injury cases. Mr. Atwell’s practice has included conducting hundreds of depositions, preparing written discovery, preparing and arguing pre-trial motions, and trial of cases. Further, he has experience in representing financial institutions in distressed asset and enforcement matters, as well as in matters related to workouts, lender liability claims, and potential breach of fiduciary duty claims. Mr. Atwell also has experience in landlord tenant matters and other commercial disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Atwell was of counsel at Crouch & Ramey, a litigation law firm based in Dallas, Texas, where his practice encompassed a variety of areas of litigation including product liability, premises liability, and toxic tort (including asbestos and benzene cases). His practice has also included medical malpractice, general personal injury, and commercial cases.
