Ransom Fox monitors and analyzes a myriad of legislative and regulatory issues for clients, including energy policy, natural resources, public lands, insular affairs, Indo-Pacific affairs, and Native American affairs. He is an experienced legislative and public policy professional with a commitment to advancing client priorities in Congress and the Administration.
Prior to joining the firm, Ransom worked as a clerk and then a legislative assistant for the House Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs within the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources in Washington, D.C., where he drafted hearing memoranda and assisted Members of Congress on insular and tribal economic development and leasing, energy production, tribal healthcare, and national security in the Indo-Pacific region. Ransom was also part of a team that renegotiated the Compacts of Freely Associated States (COFAs), which passed Congress and was signed into law by President Biden as part of the 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act. The COFAs are binding strategic agreements between the United States and the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and The Republic of Palau. Ransom also managed Committee hearings, drafted hearing questions, hearing memos, and opening statements for Members of the Committee.
Previously, Ransom served as an intern in the Congressional Office of Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05). He has also served as a campaign field organizer for a Congressional campaign and as a volunteer on multiple local political campaigns in Virginia. Ransom also participated in tutorials on the Macro and Microeconomic effects of Brexit at the University of Oxford and studied abroad at the American College of Thessaloniki in Greece.
