Sam Hyams represents clients in a wide variety of complex business pre-litigation and litigation matters in federal and California state courts, including class actions. His experience includes contractual disputes, unfair competition issues, fraud actions, and consumer financial services litigation. Sam is particularly knowledgeable regarding various consumer statutes, such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and privacy-related laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the New York SHIELD Act.
Prior to joining the firm, Sam was an associate in the San Francisco, California office of an elite boutique law firm where he represented business clients in various litigation matters. Previously, he was an associate in the Irvine, California office of an Am Law 50 firm where he represented clients in a wide variety of insurance coverage disputes and complex business litigation matters.
While attending the University of California, Irvine School of Law, Sam was Senior Research Editor and Lead Article Editor of the UC Irvine Law Review. He argued a habeas corpus appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit as a member of UC Irvine’s Appellate Litigation Clinic. Sam also served as a summer law clerk in the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office where he assisted in case preparation of criminal cases.
While attending the University of California, Irvine, Sam was a two-time qualifier for the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships and he was honored as UC Irvine’s Big West Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2013.
Sam was recognized in 2025 as one of the "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" for Commercial Litigation by The Best Lawyers in America®. He was recognized as a Northern California “Rising Star” in 2024 in the area of Class Action by Super Lawyers magazine.
