Overview

Gail Jefferson focuses her practice on patent litigation matters. She has represented clients in cases involving various technologies, including computers and electronics, medical devices, and telecommunications, among others.

Prior to joining the firm, Gail was an associate at a law firm based in Redwood City, California where she practiced patent litigation.

Prior to launching her legal career, Gail was an engineer and educator where she performed award-winning research and influenced the creation and operation of engineering student retention programs.

While attending Santa Clara University School of Law, Gail concentrated her studies in the area of patent law and gained valuable experience in patent analytics. She served as an extern/post-bar at a member-based organization whose goal is deterring the number of bad patent assertions in specific technology areas, a research assistant for Professor Brian J. Love, and a summer intern in the school’s Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic.

Gail is recipient of the Top Prof Award by the Azalea Chapter of Mortar Board in recognition of her having a “significant impact” on students. She also received the Best Paper Award by IEEE Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology (CPMT) Society and Gail’s paper was selected by the Editors-in-Chief and Associate Editors in recognition as being one of the best papers published in Transactions that year.

Gail was recognized in 2024 and 2025 as one of the "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" for Intellectual Property Litigation by The Best Lawyers in America®. She was recognized as a Northern California “Rising Star” in 2024 for Intellectual Property Litigation by Super Lawyers magazine.
