Mr. Knox focused his practice on business litigation and health care litigation. He has tried numerous cases in both the state and federal courts and appeals in the 4th, 5th and 11th Circuits, plus the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. In 1976, Wyck Knox and David Zacks founded Knox & Zacks in Augusta and later opened operations in Atlanta. Knox & Zacks merged with Kilpatrick & Cody on January 1, 1994. He served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the firm for four years.
Mr. Knox currently serves as a director of AGL Resources, Inc. and as a director and chairman of nBank Corp., as a trustee of Young Harris College, as a trustee of Ida Cason Callaway Foundation and as a curator of the Georgia Historical Society. He also serves on the Board of Visitors of Georgia Research University. He serves as a partner of Knox Properties, LLLP and as president of Knox Charity Fund, Inc. He also served as a founding director and chairman of the board of Georgia Lottery Corporation and as a member of the Metropolitan Atlanta Olympic Games Authority. Mr. Knox also served as a founding trustee of the Richard B. Russell Foundation, on the Board of Visitors of the University Georgia School of Law, as a member of Leadership Georgia in 1974, and as a director of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Knox has been listed on multiple occasions, most recently in 2008 in The Best Lawyers in America® in two categories: Business Litigation and Health Care law. He was named as one of 2004’s “100 Most Influential Georgians” by Georgia Trend Magazine and again in 2011. Mr. Knox is recognized as a 2008 Georgia “Super Lawyer” in Business Litigation and Health Care by SuperLawyers magazine. In 2013, Junior Achievement inducted Mr. Knox into its CSRA Business Hall of Fame. He was honored for his pursuits in business and philanthropy that have inspired young people to become leaders and community advocates. Mr. Knox is AV® rated by Martindale-Hubbell.*
