Dennis Meir concentrates his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters. Mr. Meir has had significant involvement in representation of debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors' committees, and trustees. Experience
Represented one of the largest savings and loan institution as national bankruptcy counsel. As counsel to this S&L, the firm performed a wide array of services, including advising and consulting on a continuous basis with bank personnel, conducting periodic seminars and training sessions for both attorneys and business personnel, drafting forms and various documents, and representing the bank in bankruptcy cases across the U.S. The firm appeared on behalf of the client in bankruptcy and other courts in some 20 states.
The firm served as co-counsel to the Tort Claimants' Committee in one of largest mass tort Chapter 11 cases ever filed. A reorganization plan creating a $2 billion trust for the payment of claims of personal injury claimants was negotiated successfully. General unsecured creditors were paid in full, and the company emerged successfully from bankruptcy.
Represented asset-backed security holders in Chapter 11 case filed in Oklahoma. Resulted in confirmed plan providing substantial returns to security holders
