Overview

Connie Robinson focuses her practice on domestic and international antitrust matters, including counseling, agency representations, corporate internal investigations, government investigations and litigation. She is recognized internationally as an antitrust expert and named as one of the "world's leading women in antitrust" (2009), and listed in the top 100 women practicing antitrust worldwide (2004) by Global Competition Review. She was named to the prestigious International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists from 2006 to 2012 and is listed by Best Lawyers in America® in 2021 and the 11 years immediately preceding for Antitrust Law and Antitrust Litigation, and in the 2011 Washington Post's Super Lawyers. In 2017 and the five years immediately preceding, Ms. Robinson was recognized as a Washington D.C. "Super Lawyer" in the area of Antitrust Litigation and a "Top 50 Women Super Lawyer" in 2015 and the three years immediately preceding and in 2013, she was recognized as a "Top 100 Washington, D.C. Ms. Robinson joined the firm in September 2003 after a distinguished 27-year career at the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, where she held the highest career positions as Director of Operations and Director of Civil Enforcement, as well as Chief of the Communications and Finance Section and Director of the AT&T Judgment Enforcement Task. Ms. Robinson was the recipient of the Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Executives, the highest award achievable in civil service. She served as the Justice Department's liaison with antitrust enforcement agencies throughout the world, including the European Commission, and on numerous international governmental committees. This government experience gives her unique knowledge about how government enforcers, both in the United States and abroad, approach competition issues and conduct investigations and litigation and develop policies.

Ms. Robinson has substantial experience analyzing mergers and handling merger investigations and cases for a wide range of regulated and unregulated industries, including fashioning remedies to permit a transaction to be closed while mitigating competitive concerns. She also has substantial experience with civil conduct antitrust investigations and related matters, such as companies' failures to abide by merger regulations and enforcement of government injunctions. She has handled numerous criminal investigations, both in the government and in private practice. She regularly represents clients before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and other enforcement agencies.
