Overview

Brad Sears focuses his practice on appellate and complex commercial litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Brad served as a law clerk to the Honorable Andrew S. Oldham of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Previously, Brad was named one of two Phillips Fellows in the U.S. Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) in Washington, D.C. He worked closely with OSG attorneys in preparing merits briefs, petitions for certiorari, and briefs in opposition for Supreme Court cases during his time there.

While attending the University of Virginia School of Law, Brad participated in the law school’s nationally recognized Supreme Court Litigation Clinic. He performed extensive appellate research and assisted with multiple Supreme Court filings in that capacity. Brad also worked on appellate matters as a summer associate with the firm in 2019, and he served as an Articles Editor on the Virginia Law Review.

Brad speaks Portuguese.
