Tiffany Thomas focuses her practice on intellectual property law including patent prosecution both foreign and domestic, due diligence, freedom-to-operate, landscape analysis, counseling, and management for companies, universities, and institutions of all sizes operating in the life sciences, biotechnology, medical technology, chemistry, and pharmaceuticals.
Tiffany practiced as a patent agent for a number of years before graduating with honors from law school. While attending law school, Tiffany was a California Western Law Review member.
In addition to her law firm experience, Tiffany worked in-house as a senior patent agent at Illumina, Inc. in San Diego, California, a global leader in developing and manufacturing life science tools and integrated systems for large-scale DNA and RNA protein analysis. This experience added to her depth of knowledge in competitive landscape analysis, due diligence, freedom-to-operate, opinion writing and patent portfolio counseling and management.
Tiffany earned her Genetics and Molecular Biology doctorate in 2004 from Emory University with Dr. Paul Doetsch, Emory University School of Medicine’s Distinguished Chair in Cancer Research and Associate Director for Basic Research at the Winship Cancer Institute.
