Isabel Triana focuses her practice on intellectual property and trademark matters including trademark prosecution, global enforcement, licensing, and portfolio management. Isabel also assists with intellectual property transactions involving trademark and copyright licenses, technology licenses, database rights, intellectual property due diligence and audits, domain name transfers, and eCommerce agreements. In addition, she provides support on brand management issues, assists clients in securing trademark registrations in the U.S. and throughout the world, and helps companies strategize to protect, enforce, and maintain the value of their trademarks. Isabel is experienced in all facets of trademark portfolio management including trademark clearance, registration, maintenance, protection, enforcement, licensing, and litigation, and she has managed a number of large international trademark portfolios on behalf of major multinational companies. Isabel also has experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial contracts including licensing, maintenance, and technology services agreements, as well as other legal and business documents.
Prior to joining the firm, Isabel was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm where she concentrated her practice on U.S. and foreign trademark clearance, registration, maintenance, protection, enforcement, licensing, and litigation; drafting and negotiating license and technology agreements; Latin America corporate matters and representation of sovereigns; and CITES advice and permitting.
Previously, Isabel gained in-house experience as Corporate Counsel at Ellucian in Malvern, Pennsylvania where she managed its U.S. and international trademark and patent portfolios as well and negotiated and drafted software license agreements domestically and internationally.
Isabel was recognized in 2025 as one of the "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" for Intellectual Property Law by The Best Lawyers in America®. In 2023, she was named to the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll, which recognizes the contributions of those D.C. Bar members who donated 50 hours or more of pro bono service during the previous calendar year.
Isabel’s native language is Spanish and she is fluent in written Portuguese and French.
