SAN FRANCISCO (April 3) - Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that The San Francisco Bar Association’s Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) awarded Kilpatrick Townsend’s San Francisco office the 2016 Outstanding Law Firm in Public Service Award at its 40th Annual Volunteer Celebration in San Francisco.
Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court, Tani Cantil-Sakuye and California Court of Appeal Justice Marla J. Miller were on hand to present the award. The firm was recognized for its outstanding work via the JDC’s Federal Pro Bono Project (representing low income litigants in federal court), Project Homeless Connect, the Family Law Guardianship Program, the Housing Negotiation Project, and the Community Organization Representation Project (handling a transactional matter for a nonprofit).
In addition to the firm award, the following Kilpatrick Townsend attorneys were selected as Outstanding Volunteers for their pro bono work as being among the top 15% of JDC volunteers: David Annis, Norris Boothe, Ted Brown, Urmil Davé, Justin Eurek, Greg Gilchrist, Ben Kleinman-Green, Jordan Jones, Stephen Mao, Steve Moore, Darius Samerotte, and Steve Surachman.
For nearly 40 years, JDC of the San Francisco Bar Association has been offering pro bono legal services and related social services to low-income San Francisco residents. JDC also helps non-profit organizations that serve low-income communities throughout Northern California.
