Insights: News Kilpatrick Townsend’s Jennifer O’Connor Named One of North Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly 2018 Leaders in the Law
GREENSBORO (October 24) -- Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Jennifer O’Connor was named one of North Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly’s 2018 Leaders in the Law.
In partnership with Elon University School of Law, North Carolina Lawyers Weekly hosted the eighth annual Leaders in the Law awards event on October 11th. The honorees highlighted have been deemed leaders who have gone above and beyond in their profession and their communities and represent the most influential individuals within North Carolina’s legal community.
Ms. O’Connor was recognized for her role on the Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets Team, where she serves as a mentor to the female associates. She is actively involved with Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Charlotte and the CRE Finance Council Women’s Group and is dedicated to pro bono work. Over the past five years, she has given over 65 hours of her time to help multiple families with grandparent adoptions, 501(c)(3) nonprofit creation, and probate estate administration. She is an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Charlotte and participates in 24 Foundation and Bike MS fundraisers for cancer and multiple sclerosis research.
Ms. O’Connor focuses her practice on the securitization of commercial and residential real estate assets, as well as general corporate finance matters. Ms. O’Connor represents primary servicers, master servicers and special servicers in all aspects of CMBS Loan servicing with a particular emphasis on REMIC, Pooling and Servicing Agreement and lender issues associated with post-securitization loan modifications, including, without limitation, loan assumptions (single site, multi-site, multi-state sites and single tenant sites), defeasances, mezzanine financing, preferred equity investments, loan modifications, borrower restructurings and mergers, partial releases, easements, collateral reconfigurations, cash management, condemnations, leasing issues, loan work-outs, loan sales, receivership and foreclosures.
