Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend Hosts Fourth Annual AT&T Legal Scholars Program

ATLANTA (July 28)Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that 30 incoming law students virtually participated in the Fourth Annual AT&T Legal Scholars program on July 24-25. In this one and a half day intensive program, participants learned from law school professors and practicing attorneys, gained valuable insight into the legal profession and acquired the tools necessary to succeed in law school. 

AT&T Legal Scholars is a collaboration between AT&T’s Legal Department, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, and Lawrence & Bundy in furtherance of these entities goal of promoting diversity within the legal profession. In addition, this year’s program included opening remarks from Justice Harold Melton, Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court.  

As in year’s past, the AT&T Legal Scholars experienced simulated law school classes, received instruction on legal writing and resume writing, were guided on case-briefing, outlining and time management, and heard from law school deans and current law students on how to successfully transition from the last year of college to the first year of law school. “This program is everything that I wish I had when entering law school,” said Yendelela Neely Holston. “Through this program we hope to help level the playing field for our students and better position them for success.”
