Please join us for a discussion among international intellectual property experts and practitioners on the rise of artificial intelligence and the applications (or potential applications) of intellectual property law to the field of artificial intelligence, as well as how IIP law may impact this rapidly developing field. Do the traditional IP regimes of copyright, patent, and trademark law apply to generative AI products? If so, in what instances and how? The panel will discuss the case of Andersen v. Stability AI and how creators of original content may protect their works from training use by generative AI programs. What constitutes a derivative work in the generative AI field? What constraints, if any, are there in IP law for the use of "data lakes" containing licensed and unlicensed content by AI programs? This panel will address these and other questions related to the application of IP law to AI.
