Kristian J. F. Bornemann represents loan servicers in connection with borrower requests, including loan assumptions, permitted and non-permitted transfers, re-structures, modifications, consents, forbearances, workouts, borrower re-financings, and leasing. He also represents lenders with the negotiation and closing of large CMBS, CLO and portfolio loans, mezzanine and subordinate debt, and open–end credit facilities and revolvers.
Kris’ broad experience expands nearly 30 years in all aspects of real estate financing transactions. Kris offers his clients a unique perspective, having had extensive experience representing each of the participants in the “life of a loan.” Kris understands his clients’ concerns and helps them identify and understand potential issues before they become problems. With significant experience in structured real estate finance, Kris has a deep understanding of the CMBS and CLO markets and helps his clients successfully navigate issues particular to securitized loans.
Prior to joining the firm, Kris was a partner in the San Francisco, California and New York City offices of an Am Law 100 firm in its Real Estate Finance Group where he concentrated his practice on loan origination and loan servicing. Earlier in his career, Kris worked as a vice president for a CMBS master servicer, where he acquired servicing portfolios, negotiated pooling and servicing agreements, and worked with asset managers to resolve loan-level issues.
