Offi Ekah focuses her practice on employee benefits matters, including executive compensation, health and welfare plans, and fiduciary duties. She advises employers on plan design and establishment, plan administration, and compliance with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and the Internal Revenue Code. She also advises employers on all legal issues regarding their 401(k) plans, pension plans, ESOPs, stock option plans, and multiemployer plans. In addition to employee benefits compliance matters, Offi reviews employee benefit-related documents for potential liabilities during due diligence for merger and acquisition transactions and helps employers maintain and terminate benefit plans.
Prior to joining the firm, Offi was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of a global corporate law firm where she was a member of its Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group within its Tax practice and advised U.S. and international clients on executive compensation, benefit plan design and compliance, employment contracts, and equity incentive arrangements.
While attending law school, Offi served as Managing Editor for the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary Journal. She also was an extern in the Washington National Tax Services of a well-known provider of audit and assurance, tax, consulting, and risk and financial advisory services.
