James Cleary Re-Joins Firm
SAN DIEGO (SEPTEMBER 25) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of James Cleary as Partner in the Intellectual Property Group's Electronic Engineering & Software Team in San Diego.

Mr. Cleary's practice focuses on patent law, including preparation and prosecution of patent applications, rendering of opinions on infringement and validity, licensing, due diligence investigations, and strategic counseling, with an emphasis on electrical, telecommunications, software, and mechanical technologies. His clients include action sports and apparel companies, among them top players in the surfing, skateboarding, kite surfing, and fitness industries. Jim also represents leaders in the medical devices, telecommunications, and software industries.

Immediately prior to joining Kilpatrick Townsend, Mr. Cleary was a partner in an AmLaw 100 firm in San Diego. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cleary served our country in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and was a senior test engineer and product team leader for the USAF Defense Dissemination Program and a program manager and technical representative for Northrop Corporation, USAF Office.
Mr. Cleary earned his J.D. from University of California's Davis School of Law. He received his MBA from Chapman University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Communications from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has been recognized by the Best Lawyers in America® and Super Lawyers in San Diego and Southern California.
