Shannon Baxter has nearly 25 years of experience representing creditors and borrowers in financing transactions. Her clients include large U.S. and non-U.S. banks, finance companies, private equity and hedge funds, and public and private companies. Shannon’s experience includes secured and unsecured credit facilities, bankruptcies, reorganizations and workouts, cross-border transactions, acquisition, recapitalization and other leveraged financings, and facilities structured to comply with Shari'ah law. She has substantial knowledge of syndicated loan transactions, first lien/second lien, mezzanine and subordinated debt facilities, subscription lines of credit, and asset-based financings. Shannon has closed transactions in a variety of industries, including aerospace, cannabis, distribution, energy, food and agribusiness, gaming, government contracting, health care, manufacturing, retail, service, sports, technology, and telecommunications.
Prior to joining the firm, Shannon was a partner in the Atlanta, Georgia office of an international law firm and member of its banking and finance practice.
While attending law school, Shannon received the 1994 Southeastern Bankruptcy Scholarship and she served as Executive Notes Editor for The Journal of Intellectual Property Law.
Shannon was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for Banking and Finance Law and Commercial Finance Law in 2023 and for Banking and Finance Law, Commercial Finance Law, Corporate Law, and Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law in 2024 and 2025.
