Amanda Brouillette focuses her practice on patent litigation matters. She has argued cases at the Federal Circuit and motions in the Eastern District of Texas, the Western District of Texas, the District of Delaware, the Eastern District of Virginia, the Southern District of New York, the Northern District of California, and at the ITC. Amanda has defended clients accused of patent infringement in a wide array of technology fields, including Wi-Fi and cellular networks, cryptography, data encryption, video compression and processing, software applications, digital transmission techniques, OLED technology, and various mechanical systems. She has experience at all stages of litigation, including through trial and appeals at both the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Amanda is also passionate about community service. She serves on the board of directors for the Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), the first and largest domestic violence organization in Georgia, which provides support to abused women, children, and men in the city of Atlanta, Gwinnett County, and Fulton County. Amanda has also provided extensive pro bono representation for immigrants seeking asylum in the Atlanta Immigration Court, in front of the Board of Immigration Appeals, in front of USCIS, and in various district courts. She has been recognized for this outstanding pro bono representation as the recipient of a Pro Bono Service Award from the Atlanta IP Inn of Court as well as numerous internal pro bono awards. Amanda also serves as the Co-Community Champion for the firm’s Atlanta Community Network, which coordinates dozens of volunteer events for attorneys and staff in the Atlanta office annually.
Amanda was recognized in 2026 and the four years immediately preceding as one of the "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" for Intellectual Property Law and Patent Law by The Best Lawyers in America®.
Experience
Representing Lenovo in a multi-patent case relating to streaming and secure memory functionality on Motorola and Lenovo devices. The case is set to go to trial in December. Truesight Communications LLC v. Lenovo Group Limited, No. 2:24-cv-00031 (E.D. Tex. filed January 22, 2024)
Representing Ring Container in a competitor suit regarding oxygen scavenging technology used in PET containers (particularly ketchup bottles). Ring countersued for antitrust violations. The case is set to go to trial in May. Graham Packaging Company, L.P. v. Ring Container Technologies, LLC, No. 3:23-cv-00110 (W.D. Ky. filed March 8, 2023)
Representing Cisco in a long-running patent infringement litigation in the Eastern District of Virginia regarding cryptographic processing. The Kilpatrick team has successfully gotten plaintiff’s expert excluded from testifying on multiple occasions, resulting in a recent filing by plaintiff admitting it no longer has a damages case to present to the jury. TecSec, Inc. v. IBM Corp., et al., No. 1:10-cv-115 (E.D. Va., filed February 5, 2010)
Represented Vantiva in an ITC case relating to WiFi header technology. Kilpatrick successfully negotiated a settlement and dismissal of the case, and its associated District Court case, in its entirety. In the Matter of Certain Video Game Consoles, Routers and Gateways, and Components Thereof, Investigation No. 337-TA-1445
Worked on the Kilpatrick team representing YKK Corporation, one of the world’s largest zipper manufacturers, and dozens of its global affiliates in a litigation involving claims of patent infringement, breach of contract, unfair trade practice, and false advertising relating to water resistant zipper technology. After over eight years of contentious litigation, the case settled in July 2023. Au New Haven, LLC et al v. YKK Corporation, No. 1:15-cv-03411 (S.D.N.Y. filed May 1, 2015).
