Overview

Mr. Fricke focuses his practice on commercial real estate finance and development including the acquisition, disposition and financing of Class A office buildings throughout the Southeastern United States, the construction and development of hospitals, medical office buildings and ambulatory surgical centers for a major university health care system, tenant issues relating to the leasing of office and industrial facilities throughout the United States, the development of hospitality and convention centers, and student housing and university development issues.

Prior to joining the firm, David was a partner in the Raleigh office of a North Carolina law firm where he focused his practice primarily on commercial lending and real estate. Previously, He was partner in the Raleigh office of an international law firm.

David is listed in the 2015, 2024 and the five years immediately preceding editions of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business for Real Estate Law. He was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for Real Estate Law in 2025 and the 14 years immediately preceding. David was named a North Carolina “Super Lawyer” in the area of Real Estate by Super Lawyers magazine in 2017 and each of the five years immediately preceding. He was recognized as a "Legal Elite" in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and again in 2013 and 2015 by Business North Carolina magazine in the area of Real Estate Law.
