Jacob Guttenberg focuses his practice on patent preparation, prosecution, and related counseling primarily in the areas of electronics and software. He also has experience in technology-related transactions including licensing, SaaS agreements, and various other intellectual property-related contracts.

Prior to rejoining the firm, Jacob was an associate in the Denver, Colorado office of an international law firm where he drafted patent applications directed at electrical and mechanical components in the energy space.

Previously, he worked with the firm as a summer associate and then an associate where he drafted patent applications, from inventor disclosure to filing, with a focus on electronics, software, LiDAR, and semiconductor processing. Jacob also served as a law clerk at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County in Los Angeles, California where he provided legal services for individuals in unlawful detainer actions.

While attending law school, Jacob was a legal intern in the Solano County Counselor’s Office in Fairfield, California where his legal research included land use, recordation, and other areas of public law. Jacob was Below-the-Line Editor for the Business Law Journal.

Prior to launching his legal career, Jacob worked in various roles within the hospitality and wine industries in California for several years.
