Overview

Leah Petersen is a member of the firm’s commercial finance team. She assists clients in a broad spectrum of financing transactions, ranging from widely syndicated to single-lender and club deals. Her clients include financial institutions, private equity groups, venture capital funds, and corporate borrowers. Leah has extensive experience with acquisition financings, asset-based lending, and mezzanine/second lien structures. She also regularly represents clients in cross-border transactions. Leah handles all aspects of credit facilities involving bridge loans, note purchase investments, work-outs, and recapitalizations. In addition to her finance work, Leah also advises clients on general operational, fund formation, and corporate governance issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Leah was a managing associate in the Atlanta, Georgia office of an international law firm where she represented companies, private equity groups, and other financial institutions in a variety of corporate finance transactions.

Prior to attending law school, Leah served as a Project Coordinator for Spirit of the Sun, an AmeriCorps Service to America (VISTA) program, that addresses three AmeriCorps' focus areas — environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, and healthy futures — and serves both Native and Indigenous youth and elders, while encouraging inter-generational collaboration.

*Represented Canadian chartered bank in multiple cross-border financing transactions in media, manufacturing, SaaS, and healthcare technology industries.

*Counsel to lender in an asset-based revolving credit facility to a trucking company, in which a fleet of over 600 vehicles served as lender's primary collateral.

*Represented bank as lead arranger and administrative agent in providing asset-based credit facility for pharmacy retailer.

*Represented private lender providing secured working capital line of credit to a group of skilled nursing home facilities.

*Counsel to private borrower in credit facility involving senior debt facility, mezzanine financing, and subordinated financing provided by private lenders.

*Represented senior lender providing revolving line of credit and term loan facility to seller of heavy equipment, construction equipment, and agricultural equipment.

*Represented a multi-media and technology company that produces content principally for the hunting, fishing, and outdoor markets in the acquisition of a technical hunting apparel company.

*Represented two private equity funds in connection with a variety of mezzanine and growth equity investments in several companies.
