As a member of the firm’s commercial finance team, Robert focuses his practice on commercial finance deals, with an emphasis on syndicated lending transactions, leveraged acquisitions, specialty financings, and other debt investments.
With experience spanning a variety of industries, including agriculture, business services, consumer products, health care, death care, industrial and manufacturing, lender finance, precious and non-precious metals, pharmaceutical, software, technology, tribal gaming and other tribal operations, and telecommunications, Robert represents banks and non-bank lenders in connection with senior secured and unsecured credit facilities, cash flow and asset-based lending transactions, first lien and second lien loan financings, unitranche facilities, cross-border financings, and distressed lending transactions. His practice focuses on the middle market, but covers a broad range of deal sizes, from bi-lateral domestic financings for middle-market companies to broadly syndicated credit facilities for publicly traded organizations with extensive cross-border operations and financings in the investment grade space.
In addition to representing lenders and other capital providers in their financing activities, Robert is routinely called upon to counsel major financial institutions, acting on behalf of consortiums of various debt holders, in their capacity as administrative and collateral agents under syndicated credit facilities.
Equally adept at borrower-side representation, Robert advises several public multinational corporations and sponsored entities in all manner of financing activities. He also has the privilege of devoting a significant portion of his practice to the representation of tribal clients and their subordinate instrumentalities in their economic endeavors to build generational wealth for their nations.
Robert’s representative clients include commercial banks and other financial institutions, debt funds, finance companies, sponsor-backed portfolio companies, public and private corporations, and tribal nations and their governmental components.
Robert was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® in 2023, 2024 and 2025 for Banking and Finance Law. He was listed in the 2024 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for Banking and Finance.
