Kilpatrick attorneys Dustin Greene, Beth Winters, and Whitney Pakalka will take an in-depth look at the North Carolina Business Court and will provide information that practitioners (both in-house and outside counsel) can utilize when deciding whether to select the Business Court as the forum of choice for their cases. The presentation will focus on the opinions of the Business Court during 2024-2025.
The seminar will include a brief overview of the Business Court and its judges, including judges appointed to the Business Court in the last year. This year we will also cover recent changes to the Business Court designation statute and the Business Court’s rules. The presenters will then review the significant cases decided by the Business Court in the past year to provide attendees with a better understanding of how the Business Court functions and its jurisprudence.
