WASHINGTON, DC (August 22) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Allisen Pawlenty-Altman to the firm’s Washington, DC office. Ms. Pawlenty-Altman rejoins the firm after serving as Corporate Counsel at Amazon for two years. She is a Partner on the firm’s Trademark and Copyright Team in the firm’s internationally-recognized Intellectual Property Department.

During her time at Amazon, Ms. Pawlenty-Altman led the in-house team responsible for all trademark, copyright, and enforcement work for Amazon's fast-growing original content business. In this role, she regularly advised business leadership on a wide array of intellectual property matters, including global risk profile and risk mitigation for new product names, scope of rights and strategy for rights acquisition and expansion, and thoughtful, customer-focused rights enforcement. Given this experience, Ms. Pawlenty-Altman has a unique understanding of the many demands facing in-house counsel and the need for outside counsel to be nimble, practical, business-minded, and PR-sensitive. Before her time at Amazon, she led Kilpatrick Townsend's Washington, DC’s office portfolio team, working closely with client-focused teams for global consumer products, entertainment, media, and hospitality brands.

Ms. Pawlenty-Altman is a business-minded, creative, and practical attorney with deep trademark and copyright experience in the Internet, technology, and entertainment spaces. She focuses her practice on domestic and international trademark counseling, portfolio management, and enforcement for global brand owners. Ms. Pawlenty-Altman helps companies assess the availability of trademarks for use and registration, develop and implement complex trademark protection strategies, monitor and enforce trademark rights, and negotiate and draft trademark consent and coexistence agreements.

Ms. Pawlenty-Altman earned her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, cum laude. She received her B.A. in Government and French Literature from the University of Notre Dame, magna cum laude.
