ATLANTA (January 24) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Ben Barkley, a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office, was elected Chairman of the Board of Camp Sunshine, a nonprofit organization serving Georgia families dealing with childhood cancer. He began a two-year term as chair January 1.
Kids attending Camp Sunshine programs can enjoy a real summer camp experience with activities like swimming and horseback riding while creating new bonds with family members and other children who share similar challenges. Mr. Barkley has served on the organization’s board of directors since 2014.
“It is a privilege to lead an organization that does so much good for so many families,” said Mr. Barkley. “Providing a place for these kids to be kids again is an inspiring experience that’s hard to put into words.”
For more than 27 years, Ben Barkley has advised public and private clients in a broad range of corporate finance transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and corporate governance matters.
