Insights: News Justin Krieger Named Chair-Elect of the Colorado Section of the American Chemical Society
DENVER (December 31) – Kilpatrick announced today that Denver Managing Partner Justin Krieger has been named the 2025 Chair-Elect of the Colorado Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Mr. Krieger is the current Chair of the National ACS Committee on Patents and Related Matters (soon to be renamed the Committee on Intellectual Property) and a former member of the Board of Trustees for the ACS Division of Chemical Education (2020–2022). The Chair-Elect position is effective January 1, 2025.
Founded in 1876, the American Chemical Society is a nonprofit organization chartered by the U.S. Congress. ACS’ mission is to advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and all its people. The Society is a global leader in promoting excellence in science education and providing access to chemistry-related information and research through its multiple research solutions, peer-reviewed journals, scientific conferences, e-books and weekly news periodical Chemical & Engineering News. The Colorado Section of the ACS was chartered in April 1920.
Mr. Krieger has more than 20 years of experience handling patent prosecution and litigation matters, including a highly successful track record challenging and defending patents in Inter Partes Review (IPR) and Post-Grant Review (PGR) proceedings before the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He also serves as an adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he teaches a course on PTAB studies.
As a registered patent attorney, Mr. Krieger also focuses on district court and ITC litigation, client counseling, and patent prosecution. His technical focus includes chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, medical devices, metallurgy, nanotechnology, mechanical engineering and consumer products. He has significant experience managing large domestic and international patent portfolios in these industries.
