Counsel Harold Hagen also Joins Kilpatrick in San Francisco
ATLANTA (June 9, 2025) – Kilpatrick announced today the addition of Bob Stupar, partner, to its Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets Team in the firm’s growing Corporate Department. He is returning to Kilpatrick’s Atlanta office where he served clients while practicing on the same team from 2007 – 2022. Also joining the Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets Team with Mr. Stupar is Harold Hagen, counsel. He will work from the firm’s San Francisco office. Until recently, both practiced at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.
Mr. Stupar concentrates his practice on lending and servicing of commercial real estate conduit and balance-sheet loans secured by apartment buildings, shopping centers, strip malls, hotels, warehouses, residential developments, office buildings, and other types of commercial real estate. He regularly represents banks, master servicers, special servicers, CRE CLO issuers, CMBS trusts, insurance companies, and other lenders with respect to commercial real estate loan originations, loan modifications, loan assumptions, CMBS (conduit and SASB) and CRE CLO securitizations, co-lender, loan participant and intercreditor issues, workouts of non-performing commercial real estate loans (forbearances, discounted payoffs, deeds-in-lieu, note sales, receiverships, foreclosures, and the exercise of other secured creditor remedies), and real estate/REO sales.
“We are excited to welcome Bob back to Kilpatrick and are looking forward to working with Harold,” said Maritza Winfunke and Greg Lazerus, Co-Leaders of the firm’s Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets Team. “They are joining at a time when clients in the commercial real estate finance market are experiencing a mix of challenges and opportunities. This makes it critical for clients to receive the best counsel possible from leading industry attorneys like Bob and Harold as they navigate an evolving market. Clients from across the firm will benefit from their nearly four decades of combined experience.”
Mr. Stupar is a frequent speaker at local and national legal and finance industry events. He graduated from Emory University School of Law (J.D.) and the University of Belgrade (B.A.).
“It is an honor to once again work and collaborate with friends and colleagues at a firm dedicated to client service and on a team that is preeminent in the industry,” said Bob Stupar. “The vast client base for the firm’s Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets Team compliments the client relationships I have served and supported over the years. I am energized to rejoin the firm where I started my career and help expand the performing and non-performing loan servicing practice.”
Harold Hagen brings nearly 20 years of experience representing commercial real estate finance and capital markets clients, including financial institutions, master servicers, special servicers, regional, national and foreign banks, rating agencies, Freddie Mac multifamily lenders, insurance companies, and debt fund managers. He advises clients on sophisticated transactions involving large loan origination, securitization and servicing, including loan assumptions and modifications, buying and selling of senior and subordinate debt and workouts.
