Prominent Partner Jonah Mitchell Joins in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (August 11)Kilpatrick announced today the addition of Jonah Mitchell to the Firm as a Partner on the Patent Litigation Team. Mr. Mitchell joins the San Francisco office from Reed Smith, reuniting with patent litigators Seth Herring and Christine Morgan, who also joined from Reed Smith earlier this year.

Mr. Mitchell has established himself in the Bay Area as a leading intellectual property and commercial trial lawyer whose practice encompasses patents, trade secrets, and complex commercial disputes across a range of industries and technologies. He has successfully led multiple trials and arbitrations in the country’s busiest patent litigation venues, including the Northern District of California, the Eastern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Virginia, the Middle District of Florida, and the International Trade Commission.

Mr. Mitchell’s experience spans computer hardware and software, networking equipment, cloud computing, cybersecurity, database and data integration software, integrated circuits, WiFi chips and devices, Ethernet technology, MEMS sensors, medical imaging software, medical devices, and outdoor sports and recreation products. His clients include companies in high-technology, health care, manufacturing, and consumer goods industries.

Mr. Mitchell is recognized by IAM Patent 1000 as a top patent practitioner worldwide and has been named by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Intellectual Property Lawyers in California. He served as Co-Hiring Partner for his previous firm’s Northern California offices for nearly 15 years. Mr. Mitchell received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and his B.S. in Agricultural Business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
