Insights: Publications GenAI Has Benefits But Proceed With Caution, Ga. Attys Told

Law360 (March 11) -- Some concerns surrounding the use of generative AI by law firms are outdated, and configuring it to lawyers' individual needs require an upfront time commitment, according to a Tuesday panel organized by the State Bar of Georgia. But attorneys should still proceed with caution when using the technology, it said.

Kilpatrick's Atlanta-based Associate Kurtis Anderson was quoted, "I don't think it's at the point where we can be comfortable using it to replace in any way shape or form our judgment or to rely on it for things we don't already know the answer to. We know the answer, we can pull it up quickly. It can help us find an answer, but it can't be the answer. That's what I've found in my practice."
