Overview

Nicholas Acevedo focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, including representing plaintiffs and defendants, in high-stakes business disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, Nick was a litigation associate in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina office of a transatlantic law firm where he focused his defense-oriented practice in the fields of Section 1983, insurance, torts, negligence, and product liability.

Nick previously served five years in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of Sergeant and completing two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve. As a Marine Corps Veteran, Nick understands the values of discipline, integrity, and attention to detail, which are essential qualities in the practice of law.

Nick also has experience working with legal issues involving blockchain technology, data breaches, and cybersecurity law, built upon the technical background he developed during his time working in Signals Intelligence. Nick previously conducted research on the implementation of blockchain technology as a solution for ownership disputes, issues of provenance, and repatriation efforts for cultural heritage objects. Nick continues to stay abreast of technological developments surrounding issues such as post-quantum encryption.

Deeply committed to giving back to the community, Nick also contributes his time and legal expertise to pro bono causes. In 2023 and 2024, he was listed in the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society, which recognizes members who contributed 50 hours or more of pro bono service during the calendar year.

Nick was recognized in the 2026 edition of "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" in the area of Product Liability Litigation - Defendants by The Best Lawyers in America®.
