Tamara Allen is a registered patent attorney who focuses her practice on patent prosecution, client counseling, and patent litigation primarily in the fields of chemical and life sciences.
Tamara graduated in the top 5% of her class from Wake Forest University School of Law. There, she was a member of the Wake Forest Law Review and the Pro Bono Honor Society. She earned Dean Suzanne Reynolds Awards in Patent Law, Business Organizations, Trade Secrets and Unfair Competition, Intellectual Property Innovation and Commercialization, Trade and Development Seminar, and Criminal Law. In 2025, Tamara served as a judicial extern in the North Carolina Business Court. Tamara was a summer associate with Kilpatrick in 2024 and 2023. In 2023, she also worked as a research assistant for her civil procedure professor.
Prior to attending law school, Tamara worked as a laboratory analyst at a Biogeochemical Stable Isotope Analysis Facility in Honolulu, Hawaii where she analyzed isotopic compositions of organic materials using Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry dual systems.
While attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Tamara was a laboratory technician in its Biogeochemical Stable Isotope Facility. She served as a research assistant on a project researching the dehydrogenation pathways of magnesium borohydride. As part of this project, Tamara spent a summer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and is a co-author of an article appearing in the scientific journal Inorganics. Tamara was a teaching assistant in organic chemistry, a private tutor in general chemistry, and a Financial Literacy Peer Educator. In 2020, Tamara was recognized with an Outstanding Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry award.
Tamara studied Mandarin Chinese abroad at Tongji University in Shanghai, China for two semesters in 2017. She has a basic knowledge of Mandarin Chinese.
