Overview

Jesse Feinstein primarily focuses his practice on state and local tax law (SALT). Since joining Kilpatrick as an Associate Attorney and enrolling in Georgetown University Law Center’s Tax LL.M. program, he has continued to expand his knowledge in federal corporate tax, with a special emphasis on corporate mergers and acquisitions.

He previously worked as a SALT Project Assistant at HMB Legal Counsel, a well-established, corporate-focused law firm based in Chicago, Illinois. There, he prepared business development articles on Illinois franchise tax, tax penalties, and marketplace facilitator laws, and assisted with the everyday tasks of the SALT team.

While attending the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, Jesse volunteered as a student in its Federal Low-Income Tax Practicum, where he assisted low-income (often incarcerated) taxpayers in collecting withheld COVID-19 stimulus checks. He served as the 2024 Symposium Editor of the University of New Hampshire Sports Law Review. Jesse worked as a Contract Specialist at a developer of an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered automated platform intended for quickly processing non-disclosure agreements. In this role, he reviewed and revised AI-edited non-disclosure agreements for compliance with client requirements.

Jesse also served as an NCAA Compliance Intern in its Department of Athletics, where he advised on the implementation of athlete payment following the NCAA v. Alston ruling and created and negotiated terms of game agreement contracts between the University of California, Santa Barbara, and other universities.

Jesse is conversational in Spanish and has elementary knowledge of German.
