Overview

Alexander Mallory (Hakikóx Walu Piga—“makes his way”) is a member in the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska and focuses his practice on litigation, including federal Indian law matters.

Before joining the firm, Alexander served as a law clerk for the Honorable Diane J. Humetewa of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, where he assisted with various civil and criminal matters, including those taken by designation in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Paul Nihoul at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. Previously, Alexander was an Attorney Advisor with the U.S. Department of Justice Honors Program in Fort Worth, Texas.

While attending law school, Alexander studied International Human Rights Law, Migration Law, and Global Administrative Law during the fall of 2018 at Bocconi University School of Law in Milan, Italy. He also clerked at three prominent law firms in Washington, D.C., San Diego, California, and Phoenix, Arizona. Alexander interned at the Maui Public Defender’s Office in Wailuku, Hawaii.

While attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Alexander was a Fellow at the Indian Law Resource Center in Helena, Montana. He was also a Gilman Scholar at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic and studied at Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey.

The National Center for American Indian Economic Development recognized Alexander with its “40 Under 40” Award in 2023.
